With the weather getting hotter every day, it’s about time to put on your sandals, start up the grill, and cool off in the pool! Will you be throwing some parties with good friends to celebrate the summer? Here’s pingg’s top summer party themes and decoration ideas to get you excited for some hot weather fun.
Vintage pool party
A vintage inspired pool party is a unique and nostalgic way to take in the sun and get refreshed! Send your guests an invitation to instantly get them into the retro mood. Suggest that your guests wear classic beach outfits and bring their favorite games. Have plenty of beach balls ready to toss around, a volleyball net set up, and a playlist of well-known summer hits from the 50s and 60s on hand. Decorate using bold or pastel colors and use patterns wherever possible. Add large, colorful paper flowers to drink straws and to the table for a vintage, summery look.
Hawaiian Tiki party
Decorate an outdoor patio or the backyard with bright floral decorations, party lights, and tiki torches. Serve up some delicious dishes such as Hawaiian Chicken Delight and offer refreshing drinks like Hawaiian smoothies. This party will be great with a large variety of cool drinks to offer to your guests. Don’t forget, a little Hawaiian music always sets the atmosphere!
Throw a traditional outdoor American barbecue! Spread out some outdoor blankets and serve up some hamburgers and grilled vegetables. Have pitchers of ice-cold lemonade and iced tea prepared and a cooler filled with bottles of refreshing drinks. You can always ask your guests to bring their favorite dish or snack and easily make this a potluck style event. Add some flare to the party by placing summer inspired decor and bright ribbons around tables decked out in checkered tablecloths. pingg has a great collection of summer barbecue invitations, so get the word out early about the best party on the block!
Ice Cream Party
What’s a better summer treat than ice cream? Set up a decorating table covered in dishes of sprinkles and various toppings, and keep the ice cream on hand in the freezer. Get basic flavors of ice cream so that you can please the pickiest guests and allow for combinations. If you have an area outside for seating, arrange some chairs and blankets in a large circle to encourage conversation. Have some board games on hand for your guests to play, and have plenty of ice cream in the freezer for seconds!
American Spirit Party
Encourage your friends to get into the American spirit! Decorate the backyard or patio with red, white, and blue ribbons and paper stars. Serve some cakes covered in white frosting and top them off with red and blue sprinkles. Place bright tablecloths on picnic tables and offer various sandwich fillings and snacks. Have cherry and blue raspberry ice pops ready to grab in the freezer. Give your guests party favors such as bags filled with candies in silver wrappers and attach a mini American flag to them, or offer red, white, and blue noisemakers for some extra fun.
